This new club badge has been developed with a sensitivity to conventional Italian football club shield and oval badge compositions and is a contemporary nod to the pre 1947 club badge.
Previous iterations of the badge feature a dolphin, often with Taras riding the dolphin, facing to the left or backwards. The dolphin here has been reversed, to face right, or forward, to indicate and reference the idea of the tenacity of a financially troubled club looking forward into the future.
The trident is an index that points to the story of Taras, but has been planted upright, as though being planted at the time of founding the city of Taranto.")
