Once we nailed down a sketch the author approved of, I began the work of creating the design. The author requested a hand painted design for the cover, so initially I painted the design on canvas using acrylics. As I painted, I occasionally checked in with the author to receive feedback and discuss any changes. Once the painting was finished with author approval, I brought the image into Photoshop, for polishing, then InDesign to format for print. This project was completed over the span of 5 months while working on the project part-time.")

This required some research to nail down the desired look. I then plugged this information into InDesign and meticulously combed through each page to ensure readability, remove orphans/widows, and check for any spacing or font issues. This process was completed for both the hardback and paperback versions of the book. This project was completed over the span of 1 month.")

This book is geared toward college age women with the goal of helping them discover more cocktails to try without having to do research every time. I drew inspiration for the cover from my four best friends from college, so each drink on the cover represents one of their favorite cocktails. The cover incorporates design details from the main spreads of the book, and the line drawings found within the book are brought to life with color on the cover. This ties the exterior and interior together for a cohesive look. The creation of the cover took about 1 ½ to 2 weeks.")

This book is geared toward college age women with the goal of helping them discover more cocktails to try without having to do research every time. There are sections of drinks based on the main liquor used in the cocktail, and each page details the ingredients as well as how to make the drink. I wanted the book to be feminine with a classy and professional feel. I added pops of color for interest and a line drawing on each page to detail glassware and garnishes. To create this design, I completed market research to decide on to position my brand. I created a mood board with some inspiration, typefaces, color choices, and line drawings. In total, I designed 160 pages for this book including spreads, chapter openers, and front matter. This project was completed over the span of 2 months.")

My class was given the opportunity to read the stories early and given the task to create one chapter opener each for 2 of the fiction of stories. There was an opportunity our work would be featured in the book, but no guarantee. I took on the challenge and decided to create 7 total chapter openers. The chapter opener I designed for “Beautiful Machine” was chosen to pair with the printed story and my design for “The Four Tales from Winesburg, Indiana” was used in a different location within the book. This project was completed over the span of 4 months.")

It is a combination of two of my passions: hiking and mental health awareness. The app is geared toward young adults and designed to encourage them to get outdoors, reduce stress, and focus on their mental health. The project began with weeks of research including developing personas for the target audience, market research, and brand positioning. To make my brand stand out amongst competitors, I chose to incorporate blues and earthy textures into the design to emphasize the mental health aspect of the brand. This project was completed over the span of 4 months, including the ideating and research phase.")

Besides developing the visual aspects for the brand, I also developed a user interface for an app. I began my project with research on the competitors to understand how my app can stand out and created a mood board to refine the vision. During the process I developed low, mid, and high-fidelity wireframes, prototyped, and performed user testing. For the final product, I completed 11 screens which included home, friends, profile, navigation, and rewards pages. This project was completed over the span of 4 months.")

I chose to design the branding for a bakery that also functions as a safe space for those who need mental health resources or are seeking more information about the process. For the project, I developed a menu and stickers. The front of the menu detailed the bread options, and the back offered information on mental health resources offered through the bakery. The stickers featured encouraging phrases with the mascot to extend some comfort and make the process less intimidating. This project was completed over the span of 2 months.")

My aim was to create a welcoming and approachable atmosphere with the branding, so I chose typefaces with rounded and soft features and created a mascot to make the process of seeking mental health resources less intimidating. This project was completed over the span of 2 months.")

I’m a multidisciplinary designer with a bachelor's degree in graphic design. While studying, I gained experience in typography, book design, brand design and UI/UX. I am proficient in the Adobe Creative Suite including InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop. I studied oil painting in Italy, but I’m also experienced with acrylics. Recently, my work was published, both cover design art and interior formatting design. I’m looking to focus on book cover design, book interior typesetting, and branding.
