Michael Joseph McDonald is an Oscar-qualified film director, producer, and writer with a background in disability activism. His best known works are the animation Freebird (2021) which qualified for the 94th Academy Awards, the documentary 6,000 Waiting (2021) which was screened in the White House to President Biden, and the docu-series As I Am. DisOrgan is his latest work–an interactive sound sculpture which premiered at the Smithsonian’s Hirshhorn Museum in June 2023.
