Core idea - An erupting volcano in a dark setting, with superimposed golden eyes looking out of the clouds. The climax of the book occurs beneath an eruption, and the antagonist is a shape-shifting monster distinguished by his golden animal-like eyes.

The protagonist uses fire magic, though I'm not sure how this could be used without making the cover cluttered. I would be interested to see if a designer could use fire in an elegant way.
