Part of the way the group came together was on a song called Shark Party, which had the line "Watch out for the Four Fins" - which led to us doing music together. Hence, we reference ourselves as the Fins and make shark related wordplay...

We had some ideas about using the 4 as a shark fin, or the 4F as a shark fin and the trails of water.

The letters of the logo are made of 4 fins.
