Dear Designers - This is your chance to make a big impact! Gobblers Lures is one of Australia's fastest growing fishing lure companies. Started in Feb 2012, Gobblers Lures is and Australian Made & Owned Soft Plastics Lure Manufacturer. We are a new player in the market, at the grass roots of our business, but have already gained the attention of the Who's who of the global fishing community with our unique lure designs. Our packaging designs will be displayed in some of the best tackle stores in the country...and possibly the world. Our Lures regularly feature in Queensland Fishing magazines & on TV in a new Queensland Fishing Show called Fishing The Dream - on 31 Digital at the end of September 2012. Being "Australian" is a big deal for us and our customers...as most of the other Lure Brands are imported from other countries...so we want to reflect our "Australian Ownership" on our packaging by simply displaying the Southern Cross to show people we are an Aussie company. Our tag line is "The Best Down Under" which we will also need on or packaging. It ties in with out cheeky name, but also has meaning of our Australian roots and has meaning of what you do with the lures (Cast them Down Under the water) We are thinking a very clean, but bold and sexy packaging style.... Our lures speak for themselves and a clean packaging design will compliment our lures perfectly. There is huge room for your creative flair and we will leave the final design look and feel in your capable hands. A few important notes to take into account - 1) We will favor the colour White behind the logo. Our competitors all use blues and yellows, but not white. I feel this would stand out on shelves in a sea of blue competitor packages. 2) Try to keep all text off the clear viewing window as it simply gets lost on the actual package with "Clear as the background" Once we Put colorful lures in the pack behind the text... it becomes very messy and very hard to read. ;-) We have attached images of a basic mock design we created to give ourselves an idea of what it may look like and to give you some direction also. The design must fit the printing template layout provided by the printers. It is also attached. We will also need the text we have displayed on the example to be included in your design however you see fit. The package is double sided printing (front and back) plastic re-seal-able, zip-lock bags with a clear (represented as grey in the design) see through viewing window, where you can see the lures inside the pack from the front and back of the packet. Lure packets are fairly simple. The best way to describe them is like re-seal-able plastic sandwich bags with flashy printing. I have attached an example image of some competitor packaging to give you an idea. Our main colours are Navy Blue, White, Grey and Orange as represented in our logo and example design. Some of our main competition in Australia would be Berkley, Atomic, Z-Man, Squidgy... just to name a few. I am sure you can find examples of their packaging designs online to give you an idea. The top front right of the packaging needs a space kept clear, of text as this is usually where tackle stores place a sticker with a product reference bar code.
