The top deck of our paddleboard. Please view the current deck at http://www.bouncesup.com.
We want one universal design that fits all three boards - like the current eva foam deck pad and decals we have now.
EVA Foam Deck Pad:
We want a primary color deck pad shape in the center that covers the existing handle and tie down points embedded in the board now (those inserts are glued in and look better when overlapped by the deck pad material). The pad can be any shape to match the other elements to be discussed, but if outer pointing sharp points can be avoided that helps as those tend to peel up easily.
Inlaid cork surface:
Our manufacturing process allows us to mold materials into the surface flush with the fiberglass skin material our boards are made with. We want to use sheets of cork cut into 2 designs, 1 above and 1 below the EVA foam pad. The cork for each design should be one single piece of cork when cut out and relatively simplistic. The cork is only 2mm thick and our operators have to be able to handle the piece of cork and place it in the mold, locating it correctly, and then placing the fiberglass over it so the part can be made.
In the manufacturing process the cork can shift slightly. The EVA foam is added after the board is manufactured. WE do not want to design the cork and EVA foam design where the cork and EVA foam have close parallel lines to each other. We would rather allow for the cork to be about 1/4" off from the correct position and still look correct.
The current decals are not necessary. We are only looking for the 2 cork designs and the EVA foam design together so that the deck of the board looks elegant. The cork also serves as a somewhat gripping material when people are walking on the paddleboard or doing yoga, so the design should take up a majority of the space on the deck of the board in front and in back of the EVA foam pad (don't make the design of those elements too small, at least 50% of the area).
