A packraft is an inflatable kayak that packs down to roughly the size of a 2 person tent. It weighs around 3kg and can be carried in a backpack.
Packraft Europe (PE) offers high quality packraft’s (Alpacka Rafts) and equipment for the European customer, with an easy access online shop, specialised customer service and direct shipping to the customer’s door. Furthermore PE offer’s courses whereby customers can learn how to packraft or improve their skills with a strong focus on safety, skill development and self sufficiency. PE will also provide the opportunity for customers to explore some of the last remaining free flowing wild river systems of Europe, through bespoke expeditions that specifically target wilderness areas of natural beauty and ecological importance that are currently under threat of destruction.
By the end of 2020 Packraft Europe (PE) will be the leading independent packrafting business in continental Europe, inspiring and educating thousands of physically active customers to get outside, explore wild waterways, learn about them, protect them. And to have fun.

The core audience is a 25-45 year professional male. He is fit, health conscious and does what he can to make the most of the outdoors each week (e.g. running, cycling, tennis, basketball, sport). He is inspired by the outdoors and adventure and participates in one or more of the following sports on a regular or semi regular basis: Hiking, mountain biking, cycling, skiing, camping, fishing, hunting, rafting, kayaking, other outdoor adventures. He will invest a minimum of €1,000 in at least 1 sport holiday each year (e.g. skiing, trekking, kayaking, kite surfing, surfing).
The Aspiring Adventurer is frustrated that his job does not allow him to spend more time in the natural world doing what he loves. To indulge his passion he is part of at least 1 outdoor sport group on social media and follows at least 1 adventure community on Facebook or Instagram that gives him a weekly hit of inspiration. He subscribers to at least 1 magazine associated with outdoor sports or travel. The Aspiring Adventurer has the appetite and funds to learn about, invest in and do more adventure sports. This pursuit will be a life priority for him for at least the next 10 years.
NEEDS OF TARGET MARKET
Sooner or later the aspiring adventurer will learn about packrafting. When they do they will conduct their own research into packrafting and seek advice on which rafts best suit there needs. Some people will by other manufacturer’s raft’s and others will buy Alpacka rafts, it matters not to PE, because at some point in time every person who starts packrafting will learn about Alpacka as they are the industry equivalent of Red Bull to energy drink’s. The aspiring adventurer will seek to find knowledgeable professional advice on packrafting equipment, techniques, suitable locations and routes for packrafting. They will also sign up to Facebook group’s and attend meet ups when possible. As they develop in the sport they will seek to improve their skills and invest in high quality packrafting equipment.
