Our family is dedicated to growing quality fruit with a focus on selling directly to the consumer. Established in the heart of New York's Hudson Valley, we have been providing heirloom varieties of apples and premium tree-ripened stone fruit and berries for more than seventy years.
We are honored that three generations of our family have connected with the local community by providing them with farm fresh produce. We continue this tradition and are invigorated by the public’s increasing focus on sustainable agriculture, farm land conservation and the preservation of the culture and tradition that is small family farming.
We only pick tree-ripened fruit at its peak which is taken immediately to market.
Currently we sell at New York City’s famed Greenmarkets and have enjoyed the relationship that comes from providing inner-city folks with local, seasonal & fresh market products. We are able to talk with our customers so they can better understand our growing practices & in turn feel more comfortable about where their food is coming from. This relationship has increased awareness of the importance of buying local and helped to promote the farm to table concept.
We want our logo to reflect our proud history and the new direction too.
Our target audience is the end-user or consumer and NOT a store. In other words, we are in the retail farm business and not the wholesale business. Audience members include:
- Health conscious consumers
- People who love to cook
- High-end consumers
- High-end restaurants
- Farmers market customers
- Those who appreciate natural foods, sustainable agriculture and responsible farming.
We are an alternative to the Big Food Business.

Inspiration de design
We do not want a particular animal, plant or product to be the one central theme, since we grow many different products on our farm - with the potential to expand. (Don't want to box ourselves in.) You can include a variety of our products in the logo (apples, peaches, cherries, berries) and we do have quite a few trucks & tractors on the farm (old & new) and they are such a recognizable icon. The tractors are essential in every aspect of our farming and the trucks are so important for bringing our products to market - feel free to incorporate either. Color is great, but maybe with a distressed, weathered feel
We like masculine vintage fonts or retro fonts.
Fonts must be easy to read and scale well as our logo will be used for everything from large banners and t-shirts to flyers and business cards & labels. Components of design need to translate well to a website and also work in black & white. NO fat, curly 70's fonts, NO cutesy apples or silly cartoons or trite red & white checkerboard table cloth type. Rustic & Rural... but we sell in New York City so has to have a level of sophistication. THANK YOU!
