we just vent over all the great designs you have submitted so far and considered every one of them. What we found out is that we feel that our purpose suits the best a design, which is like paintball itself: cool, dynamic, dirty and a little aggressive, shouting "here I am, who dare to challenge me?". Based on this criteria, we eliminated all designs that we consider to clean or to soft, regardless of their respective quality. Sorry.
The second important thing is, we like to have the "G5" be part of the artistic design catch which makes up the main part of the logo, so it can be used alone as our brand/mark. "Paintball" should fit the design but in a secondary role.
We are having some difficulties to judge the designs because of the fact, that the design look sometimes quite differently standalone and on the cover. Therefore we kindly ask you to submit your designs in both representations - standalone and on the demo cove. For this purpose I just uploaded a plain demo cover for you to play with.
It's a rare pleasure to work with you, guys
for a paintball team in order to win a game, whether tournament or scenario, the key is to act as one, to stick together and work for the team. This should be expressed trough the logo design.
Generally we do not tend towards "splash mark" designs, except if it's really an original and fresh idea.
Because the primary intention for the logo is for the cover of our magazine, the logo should be a "horizontal" design, where the magazine title (G5 Paintball) stands out clearly.
The subtitle "the ultimate resource for all competition, tournament and scenario freaks" should be part of the design.
As for styling the title and the subtitle, feel free to experiment with letter case (all lowercase, all caps, small caps, initials, ...) to fit the style of your design.
We need a light and a dark version of the design to fit all kinds of cover pictures.
