RDN provides rapid legal representation on a pro bono basis to immigrants facing unlawful and imminent detention or deportation. By leveraging partnerships with well-resourced leading corporate law firms and mentoring their teams of attorneys on the successful legal techniques pioneered by RDN, we are able to efficiently and relentlessly address the soaring demand for our services. We want our logo to be aggressive and capture the concepts of quickly responding to defend. It should not be playful, and should be flexible in terms of size - that it could be used in large format or small, and be legible and recognizable in either format. Rapid Defense Network (RDN) is a new and innovative legal services organization dedicated to providing pro-bono legal assistance to NYC immigrants facing immigrant deportation. The work that we perform is instrumental to the vitality and character of NYC. In order to change the lives of countless more immigrants, we need a logo that will help stimulate our growth and name recognition, while also expressing the values of our company. In RDN’s incipient stage, we have already taken on a great deal of cases and successfully prevented deportation, secured release from detention, and returned family members to their loved ones. For this reason, we would like our logo to emblematize the quick and decisive action that our organization prides itself on—the rapid response litigation that sets us apart from other legal service providers. We hope this visual marker will crystallize our mission in the eyes of onlookers and help RDN reach a much wider audience. 3. Identify Your Target Audience While we would like our logo to resonate first and foremost with the immigrant community, the work that RDN performs often requires us to engage with many other entities beyond our clients. These include other law firms, non-profit legal and non-legal groups, universities, politicians, and news organizations. Thus, while our chief priority is the well-being of our clients, we are also very much exposed to the public eye. Accordingly, we need a logo that will develop our image and display our values. While there are other legal organizations serving the Immigrant Community, there are none that are prepared to provide the same rapid legal response that RDN does. Other organizations do not have the expertise needed to file emergency motions in federal court to obtain stays of deportation, release from detention, and ultimately, the return of clients to their families.
