WHO WE ARE
We're a husband and wife team of attorneys plus employees who include an attorney and non-attorneys. We've both been practicing estate planning law for over 15 years and are both knowledgeable and experienced. Our clients are almost always delighted with their experience with us. (Many of them dread thinking about their own mortality - because we talk about what they want done when they die - and are relieved to find that the process is pleasant and even helps them improve family relationships and learn about themselves.
WHAT WE DO
We are premier attorneys who create estate (wills & trusts to make sure the family home goes to the kids quickly and without tax, for example) and asset protection (trusts and companies to make sure the family assets are protected in the event that someone gets divorced or is sued) plans for families with net worths above $5M.
We don't want to look at all aggressive (we don't sue people) but rather protective (we help people avoid getting sued)
HOW WE DO IT
We are a small firm and provide highly customized plans with a warm personal touch that includes extensive counseling to help our clients uncover and develop their wishes about what they want if they ever become incapacitated, what they want if they ever get sued or if a member of their family gets sued, and what they want when they die.
OUR TARGET AUDIENCE
A big portion of our target audience is over 65 with or without kids, all of whom are out of the house. Another big portion gained wealth through entrepreneurship or through real estate investing. They are often in their 40's and still have minor children that they want us to help protect.
Our clients tend to be highly educated.
Most clients come to us as couples, often at the wife's insistence. Their children, however important, are almost never involved in the planning although they benefit from it.
Our local area attracts a lot of people who love outdoor sports like walking, bicycling, skiing, jogging, rock climbing and, most popular of all, hiking. Most of our clients are physically active regardless of their age.
We practice in the town where the University of Colorado is located.
